Help for Dominica

Date published: 20th February 2018

The island of Dominica in the Caribbean was devastated by Hurricane Maria in September last year. The island is still in crisis with no electricity and no water. Jeremy Prince, a former trustee of Home Care Plus who works closely with Tuntum in organising Nottingham Carnival, has just returned from a visit to the island and is continuing his efforts to support his fellow Dominicans in any way he can. As a leading local organisation with close connections with the Caribbean community in Nottingham, Tuntum was determined to lend its support, as we did in 2004 with Grenada. Staff pitched in to help load a container with supplies donated by the people of Nottingham including food, clothes and water to send over to Dominica.
