Celebrating Leadership During Black History Month
At Tuntum Housing Association, during Black History month we wanted to throw a spotlight on a number of Tuntum Voices who have played a significant role in amplifying the experiences of BME tenants and staff throughout their careers.
Today we’re proud to honour the achievements of Barrington Billings, our Director of Operations, who has recently been appointed Chair of BME National.
Barrington’s career spans over three decades, with senior roles across the housing sector—from Hallmark Community Housing to Places for People, a former President of the Chartered Institute of Housing and former chair of Manningham Housing ..to name but a few. His commitment to equity, representation, and excellence has shaped both organisations and communities.
His appointment comes at a pivotal time. As Barrington shared:
“I am looking forward to the role for what is an increasingly challenging time for the housing sector and even more so for the BME sector.”
We celebrate this milestone and the continued impact of his leadership.
